End-of-Season Storytelling Gala at Corner House
On Thursday, May 26th, the Corner House Inn in Center Sandwich will mark the conclusion of their 23rd season of Storytelling Dinners with a Storytelling Gala. Six different storytellers will be spinning yarns after dinner. Appearing on the program will be storytellers Marion Posner, Jo Putnam, Debra Ballou, Andy Davis, Ed Fayle and David Neufeld.

Marion Posner
has lived all over the
British Isles, from the
wild highlands of
Scotland to the rolling
valleys of England’s
West Country. Marion
both narrates and plays
the various characters
that appear in her
stories – often using
local dialects. Marion’s
stories are humorous and
profound, weaving truth
with fantasy about life
in the British Isles.
Her characters are often
drawn from English,
Irish, and Scottish
lore, which reflect her
own upbringing in the
British Isles.

Jo Putnam’s vibrant, heartfelt, down-to-earth stories spring from a lifetime's wealth of experiences as teacher, writer, workshop designer, environmentalist, widely-traveled army wife, camp counselor, mother and grandmother. A native of northern Illinois, Jo's mid-western roots were the fodder for her Mid-Western Cowgirl stories. |

For over 15 years NH Seacoast naturalist and storyteller
Debra Ballou has been telling stories to audiences of all ages incorporating folktales, fairy tales, Native American stories, original stories, personal adventures, and poems. She often uses musical instruments, singing, and/or audience participation to enhance the experience.
|
White Mountain storyteller
Andy Davis has entertained audiences as far east as Paris, as far south as Bamako, and as far west as San Diego. Davis roams the northern woods with a quiver of tales that include equal parts magical realism, personal experience and multicultural folklore. His varied repertoire includes tales of youthful indiscretion and footloose adventure, multicultural folktales and tales of folk background with an original twist.

Recognized as one of Mount Washington Valley’s favorite storytellers, folk musician and master storyteller
Ed Fayle has entertained audiences at libraries, schools, bookstores, campgrounds and inns. Ed writes many of his own stories. Playing folk guitar and blues harmonica, Ed layers original music around these stories. His performances swirl with campfire intimacy as audience, teller, and tale connect.

David Neufeld is a physical storyteller, having best been described as "a cross between Mark Twain and Gary Larson (creator of 'The Far Side')". Combining character acting, illusion, and a mixed-up sense of humor, myth, and lyricism, David Neufeld has entertained over a million people in twelve countries in the past 30 years.
