STORYTELLING DINNER

Maine Island Storyteller visits Corner House Inn

Bill HindererThe Corner House Inn welcomes Bill Hinderer of Peaks Island, Maine to its Storytelling Dinner Program on Thursday evening, Nov. 3rd. Bill is a husband, father, grandfather, retired chef, and armed service veteran. He was born into a storytelling family and has been performing professionally before groups large and small for twenty five years. Bill likes to say: “Because I was a terrible student I have been telling stories all my life. My best stories were reasons my school work was not done!”

On Nov. 3rd Bill will be telling three stories centered around the upcoming holiday season. “Why the Jack-O-Lantern was Invented in Maine” is his Halloween tale. Bill touches upon Thanksgiving with his story “How to Cook a Shag”, and Christmas Day in Vietnam will come to life with a story entitled “Homemade Christmas Cookies”.

Bill has performed as a feature teller at the Three Apple Festival in Bedford, MA; at well-known Brother Blues in Cambridge, MA; and at open mic’s of M.O.O.S.E. (Maine Organization Of Storytelling Enthusiasts). He is also the only storyteller to have performed at the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in Washington, DC.

When he’s not traveling around New England telling stories, Bill resides on Peaks Island, Maine (about 3 miles offshore of Portland) with his wife of forty years, three cats, a garden and lots of fishing poles.

Come and listen to this entertaining Maine storyteller’s Corner House performance on Thursday, Nov. 3rd. Storytelling dinners are held every Thursday beginning at 6:30 pm from late October through May. The cost is $19.95 per person, plus tax & gratuity.
