STORYTELLING DINNER

Rusty Locke To Tell Stories and Sing Songs

George “Rusty” Locke will appear at the Corner House Inn in Center Sandwich for another evening of storytelling and songs on Thursday, January 12th.

Rusty is a lifelong resident of New Hampshire. His musical hero’s growing up were and still remain; Pete Seeger, Dave VanRonk, Tom Paxton, Sinatra, Bennett, Torme, Ella, and Sarah, among others.

He began playing guitar and singing the music of the great American composers over forty years ago between gigs as a photographer and journalist for the US Army.

Rusty makes no secret of his fondness for the tales of New England and the world. He also loves the music of the folk poets as well as the “standards” and interprets with ease the tunes of Porter, Gershwin, Berlin, Phil Ochs, Bob Dylan and his own compositions.

His knowledge of music is extensive and though he neither reads nor writes this art form, his memory is keen and his conception of the classics is crisp and clear. And not just the standards; he also is a fount of knowledge of folk-music, the blues and early rock and roll.

Rustys’ warm voice, his spare yet appropriate use of his the guitar coupled with his gentle charm has endeared him to audiences for years and he has entertained at various venues throughout the state.

Catch Rusty when you can, and at his blog sight http://theamericansongbook.blogspot.com. You will not be sorry!
