Press Release Lauretta Phillips

Colorful Tall Tale Teller returns to Corner House Thurs. Jan. 11

Colorful storyteller and author Lauretta Phillips of Andover, NH spins yarns at the Corner House Inn’s Storytelling Dinner program on Thursday, Jan. 11th.

Her sense of humor and her delight in the story always makes for a fun and exciting evening. Often when Lauretta shows up to tell stories, My Gal Sal or Kate Queen of the Yukon join her.

Lauretta was born in Michigan and has been living full time in New Hampshire since 1995. A storyteller since 1987, she writes most of the stories she tells but her repertoire also includes folk takes, fairy tales, legends, urban tales, tall tales, small tales, cat tales, rat tales and just plain tales.

Lauretta is a published author, columnist and short story author. She has produced and hosted two long running radio shows and is a storytelling feature on local cable TV for Concord NH and Andover, NH. Her newest book is nonfiction titled “A Closer Walk – One Woman’s Journey” and is available on line, in bookstores and from her website. When she is not working as a storyteller, teacher, inspirational speaker or writer, she is designing quilts or volunteering with New Hampshire Storytelling Alliance or The Franklin Studio, both nonprofit organizations promoting art and community development.

Enjoy a great comfort meal and be warmed by Lauretta’s dry Yankee wit on Thursday evening, Jan. 11th. Storytelling Dinners are held every Thursday evening at the Corner House Inn in Center Sandwich from late October through May. Dinner begins at 6:30 PM and the cost is $22.95 per person, plus tax & gratuity. For more information and reservations contact the Corner House at 284-6219 or online at
