Press Release - Shelley Hersey

Seacoast Storyteller Shelley Hersey weaves tales at Corner House on March 1

On Thursday evening, March 1st, seacoast storyteller Shelley Hersey appears at the Corner House Inn’s Storytelling Dinner Program. With her incredible voice, Shelley Hersey has scared and entertained folks of all ages for over 3 decades. She has been an ogre in a tree, a demon in a bottle, performed on a moving tour bus, appeared on local television and has made commercials for a local bus tour company - New England Coach.

Shelley loves telling stories that send a bit of a shiver up your spine. She began her storytelling career conducting story hour programs at the Portsmouth Public Library over 35 years ago and is a founding member of The Seacoast Storytelling Guild. Shelley credits Jackie Torrence, "The Story Lady," as her greatest influence. She has performed at the White Mountain Storytelling Festival, The Granite State Story Swap, and The Corner House Inn, as well as numerous schools, libraries and elder care facilities.

Shelley resides in Raymond NH with her husband Dick, who frequently joins her as Santa Claus for Christmas story programs. Storytelling Dinners are held on Thursday evenings from late Oct. through May at the Corner House Inn in Center Sandwich, NH.
